[ Beep. Beep. Beep. More random button clicking ensues and Korra's accidentally turned on the the video aspect of the PokeGear. She frowns down on the screen, wondering what's she's done with it. ]

Is this thing even on? [ A tilt of her head later-- ] Uh, hello? Can anyone hear me on this radio? Is... Is this place even Republic City anymore? I think I'm lost. I mean, I don't even know how I got here in the first place.

Anyway, point is just that you're here now and you might not get home for awhile.

And why not? [ Korra's starting to get really irritated about being reminded that she can't go back home. She wants to be back home. She has a duty. She has her friends and her family to think about. ]

Even with all that I've heard about home not "moving forward" or whatever when I'm here, I hate feeling like I just abandoned everything back home!

Hmph. [ She knows the person's trying to placate her, but Korra's own emotions are taking the forefront on how she's acting. Still. ]

[ She really wishes she could incinerate something right now. Burn it and her frustrations away, but since she can't even do that... Korra shakes her head and pinches the bridge of her nose for a moment.

People come and go.

You can't really count on anyone staying here forever, and they go home when they go back. So... yeah.

_{[Heather blinks. She's never actually seen a Torchic before. It's kinda... cute. You know, for a Fire type, which Heather doesn't tend to be too fond off.]}

Fire, huh. Well, you shouldn't have too much of a problem with the second Gym.

If you plan on keeping yourself busy with that stuff, anyway. Not everybody does.

Yeah, they have! I think it's something to strive for, you know. Gotta test how well I can hammer myself into this world.

Yeah? I really oughta get off my ass and get back to it. I've been on a break for WAY too long.

Word of advice: when you get to the third gym, bring earplugs. You'll need 'em.

_{[MAYBE A LITTLE. It's been some time since Heather's been really motivated to get out there and earn badges-- ever since she abruptly left Ecruteak City without one, it hadn't even really occupied her mind much when it wasn't necessary for getting things. All the disappearances back then had sort of dulled her appetite for victory.]
